FIREWORKS UNLAWFUL

In the past the City of Pecan Hill has placed signs at strategic places
within the City Limits reminding the citizens of Pecan Hill that fireworks
are prohibited in the City Limits. The placing of these signs has been a
courtesy and whether there is a sign or not the ordinance is still in place.
This is not based on whether there is a Bun Ban in place or not. This is an
ordinance that was codified May 16, 2006. Any public or private
demonstration would require prior permission by the City and proper police
supervision to be considered a legal activity. A citizen could be subject to
a citation if they are found to violate this ordinance. This ordinance is
in place to prevent injury to citizens and to protect homes and property
from being damaged or destroyed by fire.
